The Friends of the Library is a group of individuals interested in New York University Medical Center who wish to support its medical library through:

1. Encouragement of the appreciation and understanding of the literature of medicine and the library's role in acquiring and preserving it.
2. Providing funds to support the library's operations and special projects.
3. Sponsorship of special events related to libraries and the history of medicine.
4. Solicitation of materials relating to the history of the Medical Center or of particular interest to the collections of the library.
