Giving to NYU Health Sciences Libraries

Gifts to the NYU Health Sciences Libraries benefit NYU Langone Medical Center and School of Medicine by providing excellent materials and services to the NYU community and the people treated under our care.

If you wish to make a gift to support programs, services, and the acquisition of materials at the libraries, please visit the NYULMC gifts page and enter "NYUHSL" in the "What would you like your gift to support?" field.

Book and Material Donations

The NYU Health Sciences Libraries welcome gifts of books and materials that fall within the scope of its collecting activities. Gifts are reviewed with the same criteria as are used for purchasing new material. In both cases the decision is based upon the demands, present and anticipated, of the NYU Langone Medical Center and the School of Medicine's research and teaching programs.

Gifts of materials are accepted by the libraries with the understanding that once received they are owned by NYU Langone Medical Center. Gifts will not be accepted on loan or deposit. No appraisals will be given for the donated materials. The libraries reserve the right to determine their retention, cataloging treatment, and other considerations related to their use or disposition. Only the Collection Development Librarian or appointed designees may accept books on behalf of the libraries. Any attempts to donate materials without prior communication and/or approval will be declined.
