Ehrman Medical Library is the main library of the NYU Langone Medical Center. It is located in the lower level of the Medical School Science building; the entrance is next to the B elevator bank. Ehrman offers networked computers for use by faculty, students, and staff.

Main Reading Room

The main reading room consists of 49 computers: 10 Macs and 39 PCs. Each computer offers Microsoft Office 2007 (PC) or 2008 (Mac), Adobe CS3 (Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign, Freehand, Bridge, and Dreamweaver), SPSS 17 (PC), a statistical program, and Biostat (PC). There are two black and white printers and one color printer for public use.

Graphics Area

The graphics area is for all users who want to do high-end computer work such as making videos or transfering VHS to DVD. This area is equipped with two PCs, two Mac Pros and one Mac G5 along with a microfiche scanner, three flatbed scanners, DV/Mini DV digitalizer, VHS to DVD converter, analog to digital video converter, Mini DV to DVD converter, BetaMax player, video monitor viewer, and three DVD/VHS monitor viewers. Software includes Final Cut Pro, iLife 09, Adobe CS, and Microsoft Office.

Current Periodical Room

The current periodicals room houses all of our current journals, which are shelved alphabetically by the title of the journal. This area also holds the new book shelf and additional study carrels for students to study.

Stacks Study Area

The stacks study area is located on the lower level of the library. The stairs are located to the right of the Circulation Desk.  There are 26 study carrels in this area. Please remember, food and drinks are not allowed.

Mezzanine Level

The mezzanine level is also equipped with six PCs  and 10 additional study carrels, with appropriate lighting for study.

Equipment

Users may borrow equipment for free, but they must have a valid NYULMC ID and be registered with the library. Please see the Borrowing and Circulation page for information about policies.
