Twenty-four hour access is available to medical staff and faculty with an HJD ID. Non-clinical staff are allowed access to the library between the hours of 9AM and 5PM.
You must have an HJD ID to enter the library.
The Herman Robbins Medical Library at the Hospital for Joint Diseases is one of the Health Sciences Libraries at the NYU Langone Medical Center. In 1993, the library was named after Dr. Herman Robbins, Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (1972-1981), for his invaluable and indefatigable service to the Hospital for Joint Diseases--its residents, patients and staff.

As a strong electronics information resource center for the 21st Century, the Robbins Medical Library is continuing its focus on maintaining and updating a comprehensive collection of online material. As part of the Health Sciences Libraries of the NYU Langone Medical Center, the Herman Robbins Medical Library at HJD has fulltext access to thousands of online journals, books, and medical and scientific databases.
The Herman Robbins Medical Library provides quality on-site service from highly skilled staff. In addition to this, the Ehrman Medical Library at the NYU School of Medicine provides the Robbins Medical Library with public services librarians specially trained in assisting and educating medical staff, support staff, and faculty with search services for clinical research and information.
