We're pleased to announce that the Waldmann Dental Library located at the Manhattan VA is now open for business. As the VA gets back on its feet our hours are shortened as follows:
Medical students may use the Waldmann Dental Library as alternate study space. Those without activated purple NYU IDs will be limited to the hours the facility is staffed.
Currently, the only way to get to the 2nd floor is to take the service elevators. You may ask security for directions.
Two new printers have been installed and are available to account holders for printing from the computers in the library. For now we cannot offer printing from your own personal computer or laptop.
Established in 1910, the John and Bertha E. Waldmann Memorial Dental Library contains over 4,000 bound volumes, subscribes to over 300 professional journals and provides access to over 16,000 electronic journals and nearly 5,000 electronic books on dentistry and related subjects. Located in the Manhattan Veterans Administration Medical Center, the library has seating for over 150 patrons, features ten public access computer workstations, six private study rooms for small group study, and a computer laboratory with nine additional computers. Two large reading rooms feature seats appointed with semi-private glass partitions, Internet access and laptop wiring. Every seat in the library is wired and laptop wireless printing is an option as well.
The Dental Center Archives are housed with the University Archives at Bobst Library, Room 1006. For information call (212) 998-2646.
