New look for NYUHSL's PubMed links

February 3, 2012 - 1:09pm

We added some new features to the Health Sciences Libraries' PubMed link this week to try to make finding the articles you need faster and easier.

New features include:

  • Highlighting of your search terms in the results.
  • Five new filters to narrow down the literature, visible to the right of your search results.

Never used filters in PubMed? Filters are one way of narrowing down a search to find an answer to your question in the literature.

Please read the explanations below to see how these filters might help you:

  • Review – Shows only the regular review articles from your search results
  • Systematic Reviews – Shows only articles that are systematic reviews of meta-analyses from your results
  • Therapy / Treatment – Shows a narrow set of randomized controlled trials from your results
  • Diagnosis – Shows a narrow set of articles discussing diagnostic criteria from your results
  • Etiology / Harm – Shows a narrow set of articles discussing the risks of a treatment, procedure, or activity from your results
  • Prognosis – Shows a narrow set of articles discussing prognostic criteria from your results

Note: If you are signed into your own MyNCBI account, you will not see these features. To add these to your own account, please contact us by using Ask A Librarian.
