Explore Open Access Journal Publishing Options

The Health Sciences Library is pleased to announce our newest tool for NYULH faculty and researchers: the Open Access Journal Finder. This tool helps authors quickly determine whether a journal is covered by one of NYU's Open Access Agreements, which may reduce or eliminate publishing fees or provide other benefits. We hope this tool will prove especially useful at this time, as more public and private funding groups are instituting open access mandates that require funded research to be made freely available online.

Please try out the new tool by clicking here!

Key features include:

  • Multiple search options: allowing users to look up journals by journal title, publisher, or ISSN.
  • Journals A-Z browsing option: making it easier to explore participating journals even when a specific title is not known.
  • Publisher Deal Summaries: providing agreement-specific details, helping authors understand whether a journal is eligible under an NYU open access agreement and what publishing benefits may apply.
  • Subjects browsing option: making it easier to explore participating journals by a specialty or subject area.
  • Support Topics: providing information for common questions.
  • Drop-down filtering options: helping users narrow results by specialty or subject area and by benefit coverage type.

We created this resource to simplify what can often be a confusing process for authors who are trying to determine whether publication fees may be reduced or waived through an institutional agreement.

As we continue to refine and enhance the tool, we would be grateful for any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for future improvements. Please use the "Send Feedback" button to help us out!
